Why compost?

Over 1 billion (with a b!) metric tonnes of food waste ends up in landfills each year. It’s terribly wasteful, but it’s also harmful to the environment – 8% of greenhouse gas emissions come from food waste. But composting can help make a big difference. These compostable bags make it easier to manage food waste out of landfills, allowing it to break down and turn back into useful organic matter. Amazing!

But do they work?

Yes! We believe making better choices for Mama Earth shouldn’t be a burden. These compostable food scrap bags are built tough. We've put them through multiple rounds of testing to ensure they hold up against even your messiest meals. Strong, secure, and easy to use—they’re here to help you compost like a pro.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these bags expensive?

Nope! We’ve priced these bags to make sure we are competitive on a cost per bag basis. We also made sure there are more bags per roll as this was something our customers told us was important to them.

Can I use these bags for waste going to the landfill too?

Please don’t! Since landfills are designed to prevent biodegradation, recycled plastic is the most sustainable option for anything going there. Recycled plastic has the least impact in terms of sourcing and production and doesn’t break down anaerobically, helping to reduce methane.

Have you ever slipped on a banana peel?

Yes! It actually happens! It’s a dangerous situation that’s not funny at all and really highlights why properly disposing of your food scraps is so important. Seriously! Stop laughing!
